◆いきいき堺市民大学の「権利擁護」講座の仲間と裁判の傍聴体験を行ってきました。きっかけは「権利擁護」を学習していく中で再三に法律の事や後見人は裁判所が決定する等、裁判所との係わりが多く、「裁判」についても学習をしたいとの希望が上がり、お仲間の一人に裁判の業務に詳しい方の力添いによって実現しました。「初めての傍聴は民事裁判より刑事裁判の方がわかり易いとの事で敢えて刑事裁判を選んで傍聴させて頂きました」

◆傍聴に際しわざわざ裁判所の職員の方に法廷での様子や流れについて説明や、刑事裁判、民事裁判や裁判員制度などに付いて説明をして頂きました。
◆傍聴した裁判は、刑事裁判で裁判員裁判の対象になる「現住建造物等放火」の傍聴体験でした。初めての事で「被告人」では無いのですが傍聴席に入ると緊張してしまいました。
◆当日は検察官の冒頭陳述(犯行にいたる経緯を説明)と検挙に至る証拠の説明までを傍聴したところで一旦傍聴を終わり、裁判員制度に関するビデオによる紹介を見て裁判傍聴体験を終了しました。
◆裁判所や裁判の流れや裁判官や裁判員の様子を一部分ながら知ることが出来て有意義な一日となった。 (裁判傍聴の事前申し込み手続きはありません、ただし傍聴希望者の多い事件では傍聴券が必要な場合があるとの事でした）
