連休が始まった4月27日に信達宿の野田藤を見てきました。
◆ 信達宿は熊野詣や紀州の殿様の参勤交代での宿場として栄えた地で「梶本家」は屋号を「油新」といい旅籠をしながら油類を扱って居たそうです。元もと当家先代の梶本昌弘氏が丹精込めて育てた「野田藤(樹齢33年)」が枝を張り4万房を超えるまでになり4月20日頃に「ふじまつり」として一般公開をされるようになったとの事です。
◆「藤の蔓は木に巻きついて登り樹冠に広がり蔓の巻き方は、右巻き(上から見て時計回りに見える巻き方)でかなり太くなる、ヤマフジとは蔓の巻き方が逆に巻き付く。」
元は鉢植えの藤だったそうです。
◆梶本家の藤の房で一杯になった庭内では有志による歌と演奏で観光客のもてなしが行われていました。
多くの観光客でにぎわう「ふじまつり」
◆藤まつりに向かうまでの「熊野街道」では訪れる観光客に無料の飲物の準備されていた。
◆庭内には有志による来年の見ごろ時を案内してくれるサービスが行われていて申し込みをして来ました。
