９日 堺市旧市街北部の山口家、鉄砲館などを見に行きました。山口家住宅は国の重要文化財に指定されていますが、４００年ほど前に建てられたもので太い梁や大黒柱が黒くてどっしりとしています。元は庄屋の家だったそうです。１７７６年に改築と増築を、１８００年に土蔵を建増して、主屋面積４５０㎡土蔵２つで約８４㎡と広いです。高さはそう高くないですが一部２階になっています。
玄関を入った奥の土間には駕籠が梁に吊されていました。なぜかと聞いたら、嫁入りの駕籠だそうで、婚家に入ればもう帰れませんよという意味だそうです。
その後に鉄砲館に行きました。館長さんの説明は鉄砲の作り方から、堺の歴史など聞けばいくらでも話をしてくれそうです。説明の後本物の火縄銃を手にとって引き金を引く初めての体験でした。戦いの「火蓋を切る」といいますが、火蓋を開けるのでなく切るとはどういう事か？火蓋が何かの折に開いて、着火暴発を防ぐためにコヨリで火蓋を縛っていたそうです。戦が始まりいざ発射という前にコヨリを切って火蓋を開き発射したことからそういうようになったそうです。（ふーんと納得）そのほか火縄銃は１５発ほど撃つと火薬のかすで使用できなくなるので、銃身の後ろのボルトを外して掃除をしなくてはいけなかったそうです。その他大変おもしろく勉強になりました。それで写真を撮るのを忘れていました。鉄砲館は無料で見学でき。山口家は６５歳以上と中学生以下は無料です。鉄砲に興味のある方は鉄砲館はおすすめです。
